Today, the Schneider clock factory is among the most modern and largest cuckoo clock factories in the Black Forest. Anton Schneider began producing cuckoo clocks back in 1848. His little farmhouse in Schonach during the winter time was used to manufacture the first designs. The Schneider family business is now in the 6th generation and has been producing high value cuckoo clocks at its current location since 1952, which was extended several times to meet the increasing market demand.

The family business of Franz Hermle & Son was founded in 1922 and has its headquarters in Gosheim in the Swabian Jura, Southern Germany. Hermle is the only clock manufacturer that has never changed ownership. Franz Hermle and Son is the largest clock and clock movement manufacturer in Europe with two factories in Germany and one US based location in Virginia, which was founded in 1977. The product range comprises more than 65 basic clockworks of most varied designs.
Hermle clocks are – like the clocks of its competitors - built with the highest standards in mind using hardwoods, solid brass and fine Dresden porcelain. Hermle has a huge and diversified line including clocks carefully reproduced from early originals, clocks styled to meet modern artistic demands, as well as traditional clocks of every kind. Hermle makes movements for various cabinate makers and marks there name onto the movement, so you may have a Hermle movement even it has a different name on it. Like the other clock manufacturers the Rombach and Haas Black Forest Clock Factory looks back to an old history. Founded in 1894 in Schonach, which became later a center for cuckoo clock production in the Black Forest area, the clock making business slowly grew into a viable business as they produced more and more of these special clocks.
